                   TONGUE TIE

Tongue-tie, or ankyloglossia, is a condition where the thin piece of tissue under the tongue (the frenulum) is too short or tight, which can restrict the tongue's movement. In infants, symptoms of tongue-tie may include difficulty latching, poor weight gain, and excessive drooling. In children and adults, tongue-tie can cause problems with articulation, difficulty moving the tongue, and speech difficulties.
Treatment for tongue-tie may involve a simple surgical procedure to release the frenulum, known as a frenectomy. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional if you suspect you or your child has tongue-tie.
